Louisiana Rail Productions
США
Добавлен 2 июл 2013
From modern Class One railways to small shortlines, Louisiana Rail Productions aims at delivering high quality rail videos from the North Louisiana region with frequent visits to neighboring states such as Arkansas, Texas, and Mississippi! While operating steam locomotives are a rarity in the deep south, you'll still see the occasional video of the machines that built America featured!
Based on the CPKC (former KCS) Vicksburg Subdivision, I've always been fascinated with rail operations. I'll film just about anything on rails. With narration to fill you in on historic/operation info, I hope you enjoy my content.
With all of that being said, browse around the channel! I try to upload videos for just about any railfan whether you're a fan of Class One's, Shortlines, etc.
Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you trackside!

CPKC Rail Train!

No narration for this video since there wasn't that much to say in my opinion. They were laying rail between Calhoun and Choudrant, Louisiana. Supposedly, the siding in Calhoun may be getting an expansion, but I think this was just standard replacement of rails. Could be for the expectancy for an increase in traffic (From CSX and eventually Amtrak). No telling but I hope y'all enjoy!

Well done....excellent video....thank you.....👍🇨🇦🇨🇦 from British Columbia
Awesome video and clean footage man! What camera do you use?
👍😀😀😀😀😀🚂🇬🇧
Superb, as always!
IDK If you potentially runs 2816 w/ 100% or below used cooking oil. bc sustainable and stuff...
Super nice done video, love the CP 1401, thumbs up :)
8:43 is where me and my group were on that photo line during the June 15th chase! I was standing in between Dylan and Aidan
Very cool.
Steam* whistle. Which sounds a little off to me. What an honor to ride on this magnificent train , sad so many are glued to their phone 😕
Thank you for the information, excellent catching all the trains, I like them, they're awesome, @MattTheUPRailfan2006, thank you very much and have a wonderful weekend.
If I only had one chance in my life to ride a class one railroad business train, it would be this one! I’m beyond jealous!
13:23 It is really quite cool to see the visible shift when the 2816 starts, as most steam locomotives do. Glad you caught this!
That was nice of CPKC letting you ride the RCP with #2816. The Selkirk dome car was especially beautiful, and I can imagine it in SP Daylight colors... Speaking of the Selkirk name, I am reminded of the fact that its also the designation CP had for its 2-10-4s, instead of the normal Texas designation.
I also forgot, I had to chuckle about the history of the Glacier dining car. If that car has a spirit, it would be fairly embarrassed that its working now for the rival of the railroad it originally worked for!
The 6380 to 6378 were purchased by Mike Mangini at the Golden Gate Railroad Museum San Francisco I know I'm Sean I was there with Matt Munson and we're the ones that set them up to send them back out to California
A sweet video. I can promise you that before I was fortunate enough to meet you in person at the Shreveport Railroad Museum event a month or so back, I would never have willingly sat through--and truly enjoyed--a 25-minute video about a train. You have done a beautiful job. Your love and passion for these machines truly shines through. Onward young man!
Awesome video!
Great video! Defiantly wishing I could chase the northbound leg
Thank You For Your Service.
What is the wheel arrangement?
Hudson type, meaning a 4-6-4.
I was thinking when America's 250th Birthday comes in 2026 this unit should be Repainted back to her Bicentennial Look from 1976.
Good Job. 👍🏼
I was able to watch this train pass in my town both directions. What is the car behind the engines that sounds like a motor running and it has an exhaust pipe out the top?
That would be the tender. Steam is used to keep the heavy oil from gelling in cold weather, and the pipe exhausts the used steam.
I went out to heavener and page to film the empress and got the ouachita mountains in the background btw let me know when you’re gonna be up here this fall
great thanks for the ride
Awesome chase Bishop!
Fantastic video and share. Enjoyed watching and have a great upcoming weekend. Steve
I could listen to that 6 chime for hours
This may be y’all’s best work. Congrats.
Excellent as always!
Nice
You came out victorious, friend.👍🏼🚂📸☝🏽
Be sure to check out our southbound chase! Link is in the description! Give our Facebook a like while you’re at it as well! Huge thanks to CPKC for giving some of us the opportunity to ride aboard the RCP as well as allowing us to gather footage inside the Shreveport Yard! Wishing the steam crew and staff safe travels back home to Calgary!
AMAZING video!
Great Videos
Certainly a shame those 2-10-4s were all scrapped, would be amazing to see a new build one if there’s an enthusiast with deep enough pockets
Good film 🎥
Great catch!
Thank you for using the good whistle on the intro lol
Think of all the railroad lines that were Ripped up by the Big Class 1’s all because of PSR? Well, those lines could have been turned into their own Short Line companies and been used only by said short line companies. The Class 1’s could hand down the responsibility for the unwanted lines to the Short Line companies so they can focus mainly on their mainlines, while the short line Class 2 & Class 3 railroad companies can make the unwanted railroad line profitable.
Hi

Not even sure I noticed the car. Should’ve come say hello!
*_My dad was both a brakeman & switchmsn for Kansas City Southern railroad for 32 years! He developed cancer and was forced into a "early retirement".. He'd been quit smoking many years earlier but the building he'd run out of for his entire career, was insulated with asbestos (Airline Hwy in Metairie, LA) and KCS registhad plans to get rid if soon. I don't know if they did or not but when my dad died, they (KCS ®) immediately cut off his "retirement" checks and didn't even give him one for the month he almost lived through. That felt a little dirty and was 100% arbitrary on their part._* 🤔 *_I'm so thankful for a channel like this that brings awareness to and shows such deep appreciation for, railroads!_* 😁🏆
Just saying the same thing. The tracks look as rough as always. Maintenance is what put you guys under in the 80s. It's really cool tho to see the bankruptcy blue again. I'm 60. My old man was a brake man in ElReno. And they bumped cars all hours of day. No ac back then I live on the bnsf main south of abq now still no ac. I can't sleep if it's too quiet. Cool vids thanks for posting. This is the busiest line I have lived on I have bnsf, railrunner and an atsf 2926 484 steamer just finished rebuilding. All on the railrunner tracks!! We used to watch the blue wash off in heavy rains in ElReno. When something piled up the ril would putz around cutting them up for scrap. And the line would be closed for days. The bnsf would come along and just push things things out of the way and scrap them later. Just managed differently. The ril offered ElReno lots of engine and cars and ril stuff but ElReno said well they will always be here and wouldn't even spend money for side tracks to store them near the office building and museun down town
This video was truly amazing! Great seeing the chase from someone else's perspective. You've done it justice my friend. Planning on getting it coming back north?
Also, I was planning on getting that exact shot at 28:53, couldn't catch back up to it from my previous shot in Horatio, AR, unfortunately. Glad you got it!
I’ll be on board the train tomorrow from Beaumont to Shreveport. Was originally gonna chase, but I couldn’t pass this opportunity up!
@@LouisianaRailProductions Oh wow, that's insane, have a great time!
Hope they paint the geep 15's in the patriot rail scheme! Man listen to that geep towards the end....nice!
Excellent video which I enjoyed watching 👍😀😀😀🚂🇬🇧
I like watching rural shortline railroads...you see vintage locomotives where you really dont expect them! Awesome man!
I'm from magnolia I always love the train coming thru wish they would bring the Christmas train back.
Great Film 🎥
